Architecture in New York City
New York City is dominated by the Skyscraper and is now regarded one of the largest cities in the world to support various collections of skyscraper architecture. Many of the architectural designs span historically and culturally. Some include the Gothic revival of the Woolworth Building (1913), the beautiful steel Art Deco design of the Chrysler Building (1930) and the Empire State Building (1931) with its distinctive tapered top. Today many companies and residents have moved from low rise dwellings of the past to the high rise of Manhattan’s modern design masterpieces, including the Hearst Tower (2006) and the new World Trade Centre (2014).
Below are a few architectural photographs which I took back in 2014. (Architecture of New York City – click images to see larger resolutions.).
